Lots of new parents ask our newborn photographer about when the best time is to schedule their newborn photography session. Some parents will tell you that they waited until their baby was 3 to 4 months old, while others will get their photos taken as soon as they can. At Casey Jagoras Photography, we believe that the sooner that we can take photos of your new bundle of joy, the better. We suggest bringing your baby between their first 5 to 10 days of life, and the following is a list of the many reasons why:
- You can almost see babies growing up right before your eyes, and you will be surprised at how quickly your newborn won’t look like a newborn anymore. By setting up your photo-shoot early, you can capture the essence of those first couple of weeks with your new baby.
- Newborns are more likely to pose in those famous womb-like poses when they are younger.
- The younger the baby is, the more comfortable they will be naked! Newborn babies don’t need a lot of fabric or style, they are the cutest in their all-natural state!
- Younger babies will sleep a lot longer than older babies will, which will give our photographer plenty of time to get the perfect shot.
Although every baby is different and every infant photographer shoot is different, the general rule is that you want to take photos of your newborn when they are between 5 and 10 days old. Keep in mind that you will also want to have plenty of photos taken of them as they get older as well.
